“I’m Facing Whoever the F**K Has That Lightweight Title Next” – Conor McGregor Says He Will Only Fight the Champion

Conor McGregor has been out of action since UFC 264, but fighters keep dropping his name as someone they would like to fight.

Many fighters recently have called McGregor out for a fight. The likes of Max Holloway, Tony Ferguson, and Michael Chandler all want to face-to-face with ‘The Notorious.’ However, he has cleared the air and named who his next opponent will be.

Replying to a tweet, he said, “Hi lads, here goes.. clicks and the like. Your boss and what not. The Mac. Santy Claus. I’m facing whoever the f**k has that LW title next. Deal with it. Take off your goggles and mark the trilogy (against Dustin Poirier)  “unfinished”. Deal with that too. The rest mentioned, after this. Deal. With. It.”

McGregor, ever since his gruesome injury against Poirier in the third fight, has been looking for a fourth fight. Dana White, during the post-fight press conference, almost confirmed a rematch between the two. Dustin Poirier will be back in action at UFC 269 when he takes on Charles Oliveira for the title. It will be interesting to see what happens if he goes on and wins the title.

Conor McGregor declared war

The former two-division UFC champion is on a road to recovery. He suffered a broken tibia in his trilogy fight against Dustin ‘The Diamond‘ Poirier. Since the surgery, he is back training and believes he will make one of the greatest comebacks in UFC history.

The Notorious‘ in a recent post said that he has no issues with his injuries and posted a picture from his last camp. He also declared war against all of his ‘enemies.’

Not only that, he even called out his critics, who always say that he has lost the love for the sport because of how much money he’s made. In the post, he wrote, “They say time and time again that my accumulated wealth has quelled my fire. They are wrong.”

Conor McGregor is still one of the biggest names, if not the biggest in the sport. A lot of top fighters are gunning to fight him when he returns, so a title fight immediately might not be possible, but you can never say never.

What do you think of the claims made by McGregor? Do you think he should immediately fight for the title? Let us know in the comments!
