Sports World Reacts To The Developing NBA Situation

The NBA has a tricky situation on its hands, as several of the league’s players have reportedly chosen to not get vaccinated. This is going to lead to some tough decisions across the league.

Cities like New York and San Francisco have already implemented vaccine mandates for indoor entertainment. This means that players for the Knicks, Nets and Warriors will have to be vaccinated in order to play home games.

However, players like Andrew Wiggins (Warriors) and Kyrie Irving (Nets) are reportedly not vaccinated. They would reportedly be forced to miss home games.

On Saturday, Rolling Stone published a comprehensive look at the league’s vaccine situation. It did not paint a pretty picture.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver might have to make a tough decision or two. There are conspiracy theories going around locker rooms. This is not what you want to hear a month out from the start of the regular season.

Legendary NBA big man Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made his thoughts clear: every player should be vaccinated.

“The NBA should insist that all players and staff are vaccinated or remove them from the team,” the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar said. “There is no room for players who are willing to risk the health and lives of their teammates, the staff and the fans simply because they are unable to grasp the seriousness of the situation or do the necessary research.”

The NBA’s 2021-22 regular season is set to begin in about a month. It’s possible players like Wiggins, Irving and others could skip home games in protest.

This situation is likely only going to get more dramatic as the regular season approaches…
