San Francisco, CA – The Bay Area is home to the Splash Brothers. When you think of the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson draining threes come to mind. The team that created the latest trend of shooting the deep ball has recently taken on a new look.
The Dubs are still the best shooting three-point team in the NBA, but the most impressive thing about this year’s team is their defense.
“That’s our identity. We are trying to continue to prove it and rely on it every night. Our energy wasn’t great in the first quarter, and they took advantage of it. They shot the ball and moved it well around the floor. We were on our heels for almost the entire first 18 minutes,” Stephen Curry told ClutchPoints.
The Warriors have arguably the best defensive team in the NBA. They have the best defensive rating in the entire league. Former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green anchors the Warriors defense and holds everyone accountable.
Klay Thompson on winning a championship
“Our identity is our defense. We can score with the best of them, but when we flip the switch and got stops and made them take tough shots, especially in the second half, and turn that into offense, it unlocked the game for us. Pretty impressive just the energy flip that happened in that first quarter,” Warriors star Stephen Curry explained.
This new identity has the Warriors sitting on top of the NBA with the best record. But having the best record isn’t enough for this group. The only thing that can satisfy their hunger is an NBA championship.
